John Paul, Winner of the 2022 Volunteer of the Year Award

2022 Volunteer of the Year Award

John Paul

John Paul is one of Save The Bay’s core beach captain volunteers, having led over 50 Save The Bay cleanups since 2017.

All of our beach captains are highly valued leadership volunteers, but John stands out, not only because of the number of cleanups he does, but also because of his excellent leadership and organizing skills, his dedicated stewardship of Conimicut Point, his flexibility to lead at additional sites, and his ability to equally represent the Conimicut Village Association and Save The Bay at the same time.

John is reliable, communicative, organized, and an excellent leader. He has mentored high school students and Save The Bay interns alike in cleanup leadership. His passion for community service has inspired well over 1,000 volunteers who have cleaned up the shore under his guidance.

John Paul’s volunteer leadership makes him especially deserving of the honor of Save The Bay’s Volunteer of the Year.
