Job Opening: Multimedia Communications Specialist

The Save The Bay Communications Department is hiring a Multimedia Communications Specialist to support its print and digital storytelling efforts. Reporting to the Director of Communications & Marketing and working closely with the organization’s communications, operations, policy, and education departments, this employee will support Save The Bay’s print and digital editorial calendars, as well as its marketing efforts, and other visual storytelling opportunities through the development of: print and signage design, video production, social media graphics, and more. Additional responsibilities will include overseeing print vendor relationships and other related duties as assigned.


Director of Communications & Marketing


  • 3-5 years of experience—formal or informal training included—in the following areas: print design, graphic and digital design, photo editing, and video/audio recording and production

  • An established understanding of visual design principles, including, but not limited to: hierarchy, white space, and typographical best practices
  • Demonstrated experience working with a brief and producing content according to client specifications, including brand guidelines
  • Experience working with vendors on tasks like ordering merchandise and producing print materials
  • Dexterity with Adobe Creative Cloud products, notably InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere
  • An interest in visual storytelling, a passion for lifelong learning, and a familiarity with iterative design principles
  • A commitment to inclusive storytelling
  • A willingness to work collaboratively, a self-starter mentality, and a deadline-driven work ethic


  • Spanish language fluency
  • An interest in environmental issues
  • Writing experience and competency
  • Additional experience with advertising, marketing, or journalism
