Teacher Resources

teacher resources save the bay

Our education department "brings to life" the concepts you introduce in your classroom. We address a wide range of environmental and marine science topics and can customize any of our programs to fit your curriculum needs.

All of our programs are linked to national science standards and RI Grade Span Expectations.

Professional Development

We offer professional development for educators, including the Bay Institute for Experiential Learning (for all educators) and our very popular Project Narragansett (for Providence teachers).

Guide to Narragansett Bay Field Experiences

We have created the Save The Bay Guide to Narragansett Bay Field Experiences for teachers to download. As a companion piece to our education programs, this Guide provides background information on all our educational offerings and includes pre- and post-program classroom activities as well as Narragansett Bay reference materials. The Guide is divided into sections below. Download some or all of them at your leisure.

"I am excited to have been part of this experience. My knowledge of environmental science has been enhanced and deepened. I have been challenged both academically and in the field and can relay this fabulous information to our students. My students will be inspired to be scientists and advocates of their environment."
