Swimmer Registration Fee: $50.00 (This fee is non-transerable and non-refundable).

Fundraising Requirement: $400 (including registration fee). Each swimmer is responsible for raising a minimum of $400 to support Save The Bay's largest fundraiser. Prizes will be awarded for fundraising levels of $600 and up.

Kayak Registration Fee: $25. There is no fundraising requirement for kayakers who serve solely as support for an individual swimmer. (This fee is non-transerable and non-refundable).

Registering with accessories: Swimmers who register with fins, paddles or any accessory will be automatically placed in Wave 5 for the safety of all participants.

Wait List Option

Most years, the Swim fills up during the first weeks of registration and then participants will default to a wait list. Once full, a swimmer can request to be placed on the wait list and as participants drop due to injury, illness, other engagements, etc., the person next on the list will be contacted and given first option for the dropped swimmer’s spot. To request wait list status, contact Leanne Danielsen at ldanielsen@savebay.org.

Jim Mullen Challenge

This challenge honors the memory of swimmer Jim Mullen, who participated in the Save The Bay Swim for nine years. Jim set a goal each year to swim his age and complete the swim in the number of minutes that equaled his age or less.

To participate: Swimmers select “yes” to the question “participating in the Jim Mullen Challenge?” Registered Jim Mullen Challenge swimmers who successfully swim their age will receive a T-shirt by mail after the Swim.

Teams

Swim teams are teams in name only.  Teams are not fundraising teams but serve more for group support and training. Each swimmer is responsible for $400 fundraising minimum. Save the Bay does not calculate money raised by team totals. If your individual total is less than $400, you will receive alerts and updates based on  the individual fundraising goals. Save The Bay only has cabilities to pull data by individual fundraising.

Become A Virtual Swimmer

Not every athlete who wants to participate in Save the Bay can be at the event.  You may live in another part of the country or the world and still want to participate, or have a conflict on the date of the swim.   Since logistics limits the number of people who can be in the swim Virtual Swimming means you can still participate and support Save The Bay.

Virtual Swimmers have the same registration process, the same swim distance, and receive the same premiums (T-shirts, towels) as those swimming at the event.  When you register, you select the Virtual Swimmer option and when you complete your swim you enter your swim details on the Save the Bay web site.

You then set up your own 1.7 mile (2.4 km) course in open water (lake, ocean), decide the time and day you want to make the swim (in June, July or August), and with a partner to watch you, do your own Save the Bay swim.
