Storm Drain Marking with The Buckeye Brook Coalition

Save The Bay is partnering with the Buckeye Brook Coalition to mark storm drains in the watershed on Sunday, August 25. These markers say "No Dumping - Drains to Buckeye Brook" and are an important way of protecting the Brook and the Bay. Find out more and join the team!

Scallop Restoration

Come and help Save The Bay restore scallops in Point Judith Pond! Check out this video on the project. Volunteers are needed to help deploy scallops and scallop cages, and to do shoreline monitoring counting baby scallops. Divers needed as well as shoreline volunteers. Spat counts will take place throughout the season. Learn more about this great project! 

Volunteer at the Save The Bay Exploration Center this Summer

Save The Bay’s aquarium at Easton’s Beach in Newport is set to reopen this summer. We are looking for volunteers who would like to help this summer when we reopen in mid-July.  Find out more about volunteering at the aquarium!

Save The Bay South Coast Center Volunteers Needed

Storm Drain Marking Leaders Needed

Thanks to funding from REI, Save The Bay is kicking off a Clean Beaches & Waterways for All program. Save The Bay is combining its two popular volunteer programs - Shoreline Cleanups & Storm Drain Markings - to maximize community visibility and environmental impact to Narragansett Bay and its watershed. The goal is to conduct storm drain markings in each area we are hosting a shoreline or community cleanup in for the 2012 season. Become a Storm Drain Marking Leader!

Be a StormSmart Reporter

Save The Bay and CRMC are working together to engage volunteers in monitoring the impact of coastal storms around the state with the StormSmart Storm Reporter Volunteer Program. Volunteers are needed to assist the two group with documenting the effects of storms on the Rhode Island coast. Slides are available for review for you to learn more about the program and  how to navigate the website, and allow volunteers to sign up for monitoring sites. Save The Bay uses volunteers on a project need basis. All volunteer opportunities are posted here and emailed out every 2 weeks. Volunteers can participate in projects that are of interest to them and fit their schedule. There is no requirement of how many hours you need to give annually to serve as a Save The Bay volunteer.
