Dear Educator,

Save The Bay thanks you for your continued support and dedication to teaching your students about Narragansett Bay through our award-winning education program.

Again this year, we have received a Transportation Grant to facilitate bussing your students to the Bay for the 2013-2014 school year! This money is offered on a first-come, first-served basis and is available to both public and private schools as well as other groups (including early childhood centers, community organizations, scout groups) who participate in any of our shipboard and/or coastal field experiences during the 2013-2014 school year. The awarded amount can be up to $150 per trip and is based on the free lunch program according to Information Works.

Terms and Conditions:

  • The funding will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Program must be scheduled for the 2013-2014 school year.
  • Transportation funding amount will vary depending on the school's/group’s needs.
  • Transportation funding can only be used for bus transportation and cannot be applied toward program fees.
  • Save The Bay’s Transportation Fund Applicationmust be completed by the teacher/program organizer.
  • You will receive confirmation for the amount your school will receive for transportation within 24 hours of booking your program with us.
  • Teacher/program organizer is in charge of ALL scheduling logistics with bus company.
  • A transportation invoice from the bus company must be submitted to Save The Bay’s education department by the teacher/program organizer within a week after the scheduled program.
  • Save The Bay will mail a check to the bus company (or to the school department in reimbursement) for the predetermined awarded amount only after an invoice is received and the program has taken place.

As always, we strive to make our programs a memorable experience for you and your students. Our education staff works with hundreds of schools in the Narragansett Bay watershed and southern coastal areas and offers a variety of standards-based experiential education programming that are aligned to Rhode Island Grade Span Expectations and Grade Learning Expectations.
