Save The Bay works together with a variety of partners to offer afterschool programs to students in their schools or at both our Providence Save The Bay Center and our Newport Exploration Center. Most of these are offered on a long-term basis (over multiple days), allowing students to learn in-depth about Narragansett Bay in a more informal atmosphere.

High-quality afterschool programs such as those run by Save The Bay can offer kids an opportunity to learn and grow, and they provide a healthy alternative to risky behaviors, which can be a problem during those hours. These programs also offer help to today’s working families who depend on afterschool programming to keep their kids safe and to help improve academic achievement.

Save The Bay’s afterschool programming often includes a large-scale look at Narragansett Bay from the wide perspective of the whole watershed down to the tiniest critters that live in the Bay. Our programs can be tailored to appeal to students at any grade level, providing interesting, fun, science-based activities to a wide variety of audiences.

Prices depend on customization of the program. For effective teaching and quality results, we work with no more than 20 students for our long term afterschool programs.
