All hands on deck! Explore Narragansett Bay aboard Save The Bay's 45-foot vessel, the Alletta Morris or the 26-foot Swift. Both our vessels are fully certified and inspected by the U.S. Coast Guard, and they both run on eco-friendly biodeisel fuel.
Boats depart mostly Providence and Newport. All Save The Bay programs are designed to be a vehicle to aid teachers in helping their students achieve the new Rhode Island Grade Span Expectations for science. To book a program, download the Program Request Form.

HALF-DAY STUDY CRUISE ON ALLETTA MORRIS
The Alletta Morris — running on environmentally friendly biodiesel fuel — was designed to present students with unique "face-to-fin" adventures. During this two and a half-hour cruise, students have the opportunity to play the role of marine ecologist, as they examine the Bay through a variety of hands-on activities: "haul back" a net full of creatures from the bottom of the Bay; test water quality including salinity, dissolved oxygen, thermoclines and turbidity; and examine the microscopic world of plankton.
Grades: 3-Adult
Program Length: 2.5 hours
Cost: $500.00 (up to 30 students)
FULL-DAY SHIP TO SHORE CRUISE ON ALLETTA MORRIS
In addition to the activities described in the half-day study cruise, this full-day adventure includes a stop and exploration of Prudence Island, part of the Narragansett Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve-a branch of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). While on Prudence, students have opportunities to walk pristine shorelines, collect and classify coastal creatures and explore undisturbed salt marshes. This is a unique opportunity to take in the sights, smells and sounds of Narragansett Bay.
Grades: 3-Adult
Program Length: 5 hours
Cost: $700.00 (up to 30 students)

HALF-DAY CRUISES ON SWIFT
Let Swift be your gateway to upper Narragansett Bay and the Providence River. Stationed at our Fields Point facility, Swift can accommodate up to 20 passengers. Marine science activities include water quality testing, sediment collection, plankton tows, and animal collection. Swift is also a great platform to observe the complexity of the urban shoreline and learn to navigate out on the Bay. It is a great way for students to view and discuss the issues that directly impact the Bay, like changing diversity as a result of pollution or disappearing shoreline due to global warming.
Grades: 3-Adult
Program Length: 2.5 hours
Cost: $300.00 (for up to 20 students)
If you have more than 20 kids, there are several options available. Please contact Rupa at 401-272-3540, x133 or education@savebay.org.
